Description

a gateway is just a node with specific properties, instead of defining a new resource for it we should added as a filter query for the node's endpoints, which IMO is closer to the REST standards. more context here

Implementation

we could add a boolean flag/query like is_gateway on nodes endpoint.

we will need to include this with API v2 release
