Fantastic editor, great potential!
I would like to do a replace without having to go into command mode, like is possible in search mode. I was wondering if, instead of creating new modes, this could be worked around by having an "input" command, or some sort of parameter substitution, so that I could bind a key to "replace ^input ^input". This would also make other things possible.

...so when I hit Ctrl+R, it opens up command mode with replace already typed in and I just have to enter the arguments and hit Enter. For my purposes, it seems almost the same thing as an input prompt.
Thanks, I guess that would be the workaround. But because of the huge scripting opportunities once we have ^input, I'd still like to have it. But I'll make a similar keybinding here for now.
