2021.12 to 2022.12The first yearly community release, 2022.12. is published. While it works very good out of the box, I recommend some of the improvements of the following nightlies like 2022.12.10.61 (for ldap users see also #7426). PHP 8.0 is recommended but PHP 7.4 also works. |

Help with Updates - including historical installations
In addition to the Wiki chapter on Updates I'd like to discuss all problems related to Upgrades here. Hopefully we can build an archive for issues while updating. I am happy to share my notes here that I collected over several years.
Rules of discussion
Put every series into its own comment and answer to that. Like this:
Tine 2.0 Updates will change the Database and/or the Virtual File System.
Always make a full Backup before a Update/Upgrade attempt.
In case of errors, please state your PHP version and MySQL or MariaDB version. Please try to include a log file, level DEBUG, while upgrading.
General Upgrade procedure
Please keep in mind that major upgrades are compatible to the last minor update only.
Thus, at the beginning update to the latest minor in a series (
20xx.02.1 --> 20xx.02.5
). Only then do the upgrade to the next series (20xx.08.3
), whereas you do not need to use the smallest minor of a series (note the minor version3
not1
necessarily). All versions mentioned are examples only.Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
