Thank you for this great patch! PostgreSQL JDBC and PgBouncer work so much better together now.
We compiled PgBouncer with this patch in staging, and it all looks well so far. But, if statement caching is enabled,
pkt_buf
insettings.ini
also needs to be adjusted to accommodate the largest query we may expect to be sending to the backend. Otherwise connections will be rejected with errors such asERROR C-0x55cd9c56a8a0: <db_name> Packet length (8834) bigger than buffer size (2048 - 256)
. Happy to do a pull request to update the README, but I wanted to make sure that this really has to do with this patch.I did not notice the same issue with the default PgBouncer package for Ubuntu 22.04, for instance.
