Open fugitive object by github URL

Is it possible to do "reverse" :GBrowse action? i.e. open fugitive object by providing github URL.
For example, if I have opened this repo in fugitive then doing something like:

:Gedit https://github.com/tpope/vim-rhubarb/blob/master/README.markdown

will open README.markdown from respective branch.

There's an undocumented prototype that does exactly that. See tpope/vim-fugitive#2223.
