So it seems the web interface is the real culprit that cannot tackle the problem in an easy way. What I did meanwhile is to copy my file to where the docker container can see it: /downloads/complete What may have saved me time and headache if there were at least a comment somewhere that sharing new files is not supported with the web UI. If I am wrong here, feel free to correct me... |

I installed Transmission to share a file I created with others. Being new to Transmission I have to admit I am a bit lost.
My setup is transmission with web UI inside a docker container (https://docs.linuxserver.io/images/docker-transmission). I tested downloading some CentOS 8.4 ISO image, and the file seems to be coming in. Hence I believe my setup is working.
Next I want to share my own file but there is no good hint in the UI, nor is there something in the wiki. When I try to follow the quite generic document at https://lifehacker.com/how-to-share-your-own-files-using-bittorrent-5534190 it says to just go to the File menu and add a new torrent. As soon as I fill in the dialog window by choosing my own file and press Ok, the UI seems to freeze. So I am not sure whether I did something wrong or I just need to wait for more time.
Hence the question: How would I share my own file with others?
I am running Transmission 3.00 with Web Control 1.6.1.
