That is NOT the beta 4 gui.

Based on @pigsyn 's post I've made a repo that let you build last beta2 of transmission
You will see some differences so feel free to adjust them up to your needs, the only change that ensure you will build beta2 is

    ARG TransmissionTAG=4.0.0-beta.2
[...]
    git config --global advice.detachedHead false; \
    git clone https://github.com/transmission/transmission Transmission --branch ${TransmissionTAG} --single-branch; \

There's no read me yet, but you can run
podman build -t transmission4:beta2 .
podman run --detach --name=transmission --replace -v your/watch/dir:/watch -v your/config/dir:/config -v /your/media/dir:/media -p 51413:51413 -p 9091:9091 transmission4:beta2

I wrote that as it came to me so there might be some mistakes

I checked that when I tried to identify packages needed for compliation :)

These three are not needed for compiling the daemon as they are for GTK. dbus-glib-dev gtkmm4-dev libappindicator-dev

And linux-header gettext-dev were needed instead otherwise I got errors for missing header files.

Here is my version: https://github.com/zhen-huan-hu/docker-transmission/tree/alpine-dev It turns out you only need git python3 build-base cmake curl-dev gettext-dev openssl-dev linux-headers samurai to successfully compile in Alpine.

Actually the web UI does work (my README is inaccurate). The ENABLE_WEBUI build option seems deprecated so it did not have any effect whatsoever.
