Per discussion in pytest-dev/pytest-django#119, the identified issue does not appear to lie with django-simple-history. Please open a new issue if similar exceptions are raised while running django.setup(). |

I left your changes out for now.Looked through your changes, only difference I saw was removing the use of the internal API.
