One of the best things about NEXTSPACE is using command as the modifier key. Unfortunately only built-in apps follow this convention. Is there anyway to make third-party apps use command as well? This is critical for pro users, which I assume are the people who would try NEXTSPACE.

I don't know. It would be great if you make a research on this.

I basically need Firefox to work like this as in most of the time that's all I need. But I couldn't find anyway other than modifying Firefox source code and recompiling.

I wonder how other people solve this. cc @armm77
