That would be cool, a lot of people complaining about that heir sqlite libraries are too old and they can't compile. This happens with debian lenny and ubuntu 10.04, both are still very wide spreaded

@Pita - can you try this out? Just do:

./configure --internal-sqlite && make && make test

If this seems to work we can consider making it the default so that npm installs "just work"
