Just starting to dig into this project, but one reason I am interested in this vs. emoji-mart is that my application is built on react-native and react-native-web. Android, iOS and web all run from the same code base. This project is appealing because i can get the functionality i'm looking for and (hopefully) it will just work with all three platforms without having to maintain different implementations.

Thanks @brianneisler, I hope it suits your needs! Feel free to create issues for feature requests etc if you come across something you need that's not supported etc.

For now I've just ported and tried to keep as true to emoji-mart as possible and only made changes to fit the needs of the company I currently work for. But would love to see more people using this so open for any new feature suggestions etc 馃殌
