I would suggest to change the width of dt in dl-horizontal to a procentual value, so that can be placed better inside popovers or similar smaller objects.
Maybe there could also be different variants (wide and narrow) that give the dt more room.

I don't think we'll change it to this. In the future we'll better use the grid for this, but any other changes will likely just impede that.

How would using the grid for this would look like?
That change I mean is really simple. Just change the 180px to let's say 30% and the margin to 33%.
The problem at the moment is, that the calculation only works on px and not with percentage.
Just maybe even just changing the - 20 to something like * .95 would make it more flexible
