In Half-Life, the MP5 muzzle flash is continuous, meaning every fired bullet produces one muzzle flash. This is not the case in Opposing Force where the muzzle flash rate is interrupted (there are small gaps). Is this by design?
I recorded some youtube videos but since the framerate I play at (80fps) differs from the 30fps of the videos, the muzzle flash discontinuity is exaggerated. Anyway, you can clearly see that Half-Life has a more smooth rate.

That happens because the Opposing Force MP5 model has a second deploy animation that's used as an attack animation. Weapon animations are index-based so it uses that one.

I'll see if that second deploy animation can be removed.

That would be great as in practice it's very annoying. This is probably the most important issue I've reported besides the Shock Trooper.

I've started playing Blue Shift Updated and the MP5 has the same behavior.

Malortie has fixed both models. They'll be included in the next beta.
