I'm a graduate student and reading your paper ! Is the same system between H3 and CPIS?

Hi, unfortunately I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to. Could you add more to your question?

If the question is about closest packing, I believe the answer is they are not the same system because hexagons at the next finer resolution are only approximately contained by the parent hexagon.

@greatathrun are you referring to Central Place Indexing? If so then yes, H3 is a CPI system. This is mentioned in the documentation (see https://uber.github.io/h3/#/documentation/core-library/h3-index-representations ).

Edit: Just realized @sahrk wrote this. Very cool! It happened to be a top hit for "central place indexing" on Google.
