mate-menu not showing installed apps and mate-menus crashes instantly

Hello,

I tried editing my main menu using the Main Menu application, and as I was dragging one of the icons it suddenly crashed. I tried restarting it but it simply appears for a few milliseconds and crashes again. In addition, all of my installed applications and the usual categories in the menu have disappeared, except for 'All', 'Favourites', 'Administration', and 'Preferences'. I feel like I've tried everything at this point - I've rebooted, I've reinstalled mate-menu and mate-menus, I've completely reinstalled mate, nothing seems to fix this. The Main Menu app (mate-menus?) still crashes immediately and all of my installed applications are still missing.

Any ideas would be appreciated and thank you for all your amazing work!
