Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues

Description

I added a Philips Hue integration. The setup was successful, but now the state of the integration is constantly toggling between disconnected and connected, making it basically unusable. I've already tried restarting the remote and re-adding the integration, which led to the same result.

I had previously set up the integration without this issue, but had to remove it because some new Hue devices could not be discovered by the remote. So I thought I could just remove and re-add the integration but apparently that was a bad idea...

How to Reproduce

  1. Add Hue integration
  2. Observe state toggling between connected and disconnected in the settings UI

Expected behavior

The Hue integration should stay in connected state.

System version

v1.4.3 / Hue integration: v0.2.14

What part of the system affected by the problem?

Integration

Additional observation: when adding the integration through the UI on the remote instead of the web UI, I get to the point where I can select my Hue devices and if I then click "continue", it shows a timeout error. Nonetheless the integration shows up as configured. However, it is again not connected and unusable.

We have found and fixed two runtime issue, which could lead to this described behaviour.
A beta firmware will be released either today or tomorrow and be available this week for everyone.

@leoschweizer could you please upload the logs from the "Philips Hue Integration"?
Then I can cross-check if it's the issue we found, or if there's more work for us. Since your Core service logs show Connection refused, it's likely one of the runtime crash issues.

@zehnm I can't provide those logs anymore unfortunately, I had to do a factory reset to get it working again (removing/readding the integration and/or rebooting just wouldn't reset enough state to end up on a green field again). So after a factory reset, I could add the integration again and right now it is working for me.

No problem, release is out to the beta group and should be available this week in the normal release channel. That should hopefully fix those issues. Otherwise we'll investigate further and fix it.
