How to Contribute

We want to hear about your experiences with Unleash, Open Source, Feature Management, DevOps, and Software Delivery. Your stories matter the most to us, and that's what we want this program to be about — sharing your stories and experiences. We are not looking for content driven by SEO or strict word counts.

Any member of the community can participate in the content program by following these steps:

Step 1:

Register as a writer by filling out this Google Form. We need a few details from you to understand your experience and determine if you are able to write a beginner or advanced topic. We will need the following information:

- First name
- Last name
- Email
- Country
- GitHub username
- Twitter username (optional)

Step 2:

Join the Unleash Slack and just ask to be a part of the Community Content program if you haven't joined the Slack already.

Step 3:

Create a new issue(or use an existing one) with an outline on the GitHub Project. Please see the project for an example of what this should look like.

Step 4:

Wait for your topic to be reviewed. This process takes about one week and will be reviewed by our team.

Step 5:

Once approved, submit your first draft for review.

Step 6:

Submit an invoice after the review process is completed. Once your article is published, you will be paid through a Wire Transfer.

Payment

We have a flat structure $200 per content contribution. This contribution is not limited to the amount of words in your article, but we require satisfactory material to be able to pay the writer.

Maintenance

We require writers to maintain their articles and provide updates in case the product changes significantly. Maintenance guidelines will depend on major releases.

FAQ

  1. Where do I share my article?

After your topic and outline have been approved, you can start writing your draft. We use Google Docs to submit and review drafts. Please use this article template and duplicate it for your own use.

Once your article is ready, please share the Google Docs link in a comment on your GitHub issue. Make sure to include a link to the code repository, two blog post images, and the word count at the bottom of your article (content excluding code). Please ensure that sharing permissions provide view and edit access to anyone with the Google Docs article link to avoid any delays, as multiple members of our team will be checking the article.

  1. How much do I get paid?

You will be paid for articles that are published on the Unleash Blog, and the article will be published under your name. We have a flat structure $200 per content contribution. This contribution is not limited to the amount of words in your article, but we require satisfactory material to be able to pay the writer.

  1. Not sure what to write about? Here are some requested topic ideas.

Please find topics where we are Looking for Authors in this project.
