Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Since the Unsplash Slack server as the only connection point of the community isn't as populated as it could be, I think there could be another way of bringing the people of Unsplash together.

Describe the solution you'd like
With a dataset of all Unsplash contributors it would be possible to create a map, giving them a chance to find other motivated photographers nearby. The dataset should contain the name, the location, the number of photos, the URL and maybe the linked website.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Before, there have been local Slack channels on the server to connect with other people from the same country, but afaik they have been shutdown.

Additional context
Nothing to add

@juppcamper thanks for the suggestion. I like the idea and the motivation behind it. Our concern with releasing any contributor data is that it's personal information, and we need to be sensitive to sharing that publicly, as it can be used with bad intensions as well as good.

All the data you mentioned is already public on the site, but I'm still concerned about putting it all in an easy to access place

@lukechesser what about adding a settings toggle button for opting-in to community location sharing? This way it defaults to off, you can easily scrape only those with it enabled, and users can turn it on if they want.

@cadop it's certainly an option. I'll add it to our list, but I'm not sure it will get picked up/prioritized by anyone on the team unless they see more usage for it
