Where are the verified claims stored

I'm confused about where are the verified claims stored in the uPort solution.
According to some documents that I have read, they can be integrated into the DID Document.
Is it the case for the uPort solution? If not where is the location of these claims?

For mobile users the credentials are stored locally, on the device.
There is also an end to end backup solution that can be activated on demand.

For other apps and backends using existing uPort libraries it is up to the developers where they decide to store.

Apps using the new DID Agent Framework can enable a local database that integrates with the other framework components.
