This epic includes items related to helping developers build quickly and incrementally — allowing them to use USWDS components where they need them, to extend existing components, and develop new components consistent with the system.

Issues that could be relevant to this epic

  • Component independence and isolation
  • Consistent use of variables
  • Options for theming
  • Utility classes
  • Modularization of components
  • Modularization of JavaScript and interactions
  • Scoping of USWDS CSS; how can we scope styling of base html elements?
  • Developing a more flexible and fine-grained grid system
  • Provide an unstyled accessible markup scaffolding o which to develop component variants
  • Incorporate best-practice microformats into our markup
