Shared directory on Windows guest with Office 365 #5042
Comments
I encountered the same issue and just used Windows' standard file sharing, connecting from the macOS host via SMB. |
Arm binary of Spice WebDAV daemon (https://www.spice-space.org/download/windows/spice-webdavd/) is broken. Try x64 binary instead of Arm one. |
Thanks so much, @dinosauria123 - that restored access to WebDAV file sharing on a Windows 11 ARM VM where it had been broken after installing Microsoft 365 desktop apps. |
Sir, could you please share as to how I can do this? In the same position and incredibly frustrated! |
Just download the correct *.msi file, launch it and restart |
Oh yes, I've tried installing the spice-webdavd-x64-latest.msi file, but it says "product already installed". Still cant see the shared location. :( |
You need to uninstall spice WebDAV first and then reinstall |
It worked! Thank you SO much! |
Hello. I am not sure which file to download. But first I need to find where and how to uninstall the old webdav. I would appreciate if someone can help me a little more detailed. |
It's in system>apps. I uninstalled it from there and reinstalled the 'latest' .msi for x64 |
I found it. Now I will write the detailed answer. You can find webdav in add\remove programs. Which webdav file? I installed this one: spice-webdavd-x64-2.4. the problem is completely gone. thank you. |
I ran into the same issue and using @realperest solution worked for me. To make the workaround easier to find this is the error I got when trying to run the spice-webdavd.exe manually:

After installing Office (Microsoft 365) on Windows 11 guest with SPICE guest agent installed, shared directory do not work anymore.
A comment in #3583 (#3583 (reply in thread)) refers to this bug, but I've found no additional information nor workaround.
Is there any way to keep folder sharing working, with Office 365 installed on the Windows guest OS?
Thanks.
