You can close tab by pressing Esc or by pushing a close button. I dont think
that it
is a good idea to close tabs by middle button.

Middle-click should close tab only if user clicked on the tab header, not the
rest of
chat window.

Browser experience misleads users to middle-click links ("open in new
tab/window") in
IM applications too. Okay if that does nothing, but if window SUDDENLY closes -
that's
very frustrating.

This approach makes this functionality not usable at all. It is necessary or
leave
as is or cancel in general.

Why? All browsers work as described, everyone use this feature and nobody
complains.

At least there must be an option to disable this behavior in settings.
