As in https://github.com/valueflows/valueflows/wiki/ValueFlows-spiral-apps

@elf-pavlik any new use cases, learnings, or VF-related code experiments in Vientos?

@pmackay - anything new from the circular economy arena?

@djodjoni - anything new happening with food apps?

@almereyda - anything new and VF-related from TransforMap?

Or anybody else? I could be forgetting someone...

hey all :) ive been super busy last months but still alive :) We are in a process of reforming Linked.Farm and moving to a cooperative with local farmers and hub organizers so we have more shared values, economic support and stability and at the same time improving the technology stack and apps. I will have an update hopefully in January about both :)

Howdy!

Apologies for a long delay, I would still like to share some progress related to https://vientos.coop

Currently we make distinction between 4 ways of collaborating

  • work
  • usage
  • consumption (i guess also production fits here)
  • ownership
    screenshot-2017-12-26 vientos

We also have plan for services which would compose bundles of work, usage and consumption/production.

We also start with distinction between 4 kinds of reciprocity

  • gift (enabled)
  • barter (not yet enabled)
  • time exchange (not yet enabled)
  • trade (not yet enabled)
    screenshot-2017-12-26 vientos 1

Trade supposed to support any type of monetary currency (LETS, faircoin, ISO4017 etc.)
Barter eventually should also extend to 'barter chains / networked barter'

Currently we also look at topics around geo relevance. For example work can have 'remote' mode but usage & consumption seem to relate to some physical resource which seems to put some spacial requirements and eventually lead to necessity to deal with pick-up & delivery.

When it comes to terminology, we might use term needs as in Max-neef: Fundamental human needs or Nonviolent Communication (NVC): needs. So in VF terms classification/taxonomy, particular offers & requests (intents / proposals / classifieds) would represent a particular strategy to fulfill one (or more) of our universal needs.

At this moment we don't have any plans to handle inventories but as we extend the pilot and make Vientos fully public we may find demand for that.

Actually we haven't looked much at production, looking at this from the demand driven perspective, we may find some differences between

  • producing for consumption
  • producing for usage

Please ignore my suggestion in previous comment about simply throwing production together with consumption.

👋 @elf-pavlik really good to hear about Vientos! ❤️ I looked for it some weeks ago and couldn't find it anymore, now bookmarked.

It would be awesome to be able to collaborate some on Intents when you have some time. We're starting to have places we would like to have some of that in VF for people.....

The way I remember we explored them in VF so far still seems to hold:

  • Intents lead to Commitments lead to Events
  • Proposals (which include Intents) lead to Agreements (which include Commitments)

We may still need to look at how things work with classifications / taxonomies and follow from broader (intents) to narrower (commitments) and exact (events)

I've just proposed exploring various issues around 'matching intents' in https://github.com/valueflows/intent/issues/7#issuecomment-355165024
