I often like to present the current month or week with a dotted line to indicate that the current period is still active.
So I combine a solid line with a dashed line using: strokeDash
However, to get this working we must duplicate the data point where the date ends and starts. I understand why you have done this but most data sets are not usually like this.
Instead can you have an option to connect the 2 lines together and I think this should be the default.
I agree that it's not super convenient but it's unclear where the line should switch from continuous to stroked. Also, this will need to be done in Vega and would then automatically work in Vega-Lite. Moving there and changing from bug to enhancement.
