In the current version of the Vega protocol, markets must be proposed with an internal time-based oracle, or an external oracle input (an individual’s public key) to terminate trading, with settlement data provided as a signed transaction coming from the public key.
Once the flexible Ethereum oracle framework is implemented, it will add a new way of sourcing data from the Ethereum blockchain allowing for arbitrary data from the Ethereum blockchain to be ingested as a data source. This is in addition to the existing Ethereum bridge, which is unchanged by this change.
Flexible Ethereum oracle framework
In the current version of the Vega protocol, markets must be proposed with an internal time-based oracle, or an external oracle input (an individual’s public key) to terminate trading, with settlement data provided as a signed transaction coming from the public key.
Once the flexible Ethereum oracle framework is implemented, it will add a new way of sourcing data from the Ethereum blockchain allowing for arbitrary data from the Ethereum blockchain to be ingested as a data source. This is in addition to the existing Ethereum bridge, which is unchanged by this change.
