I use Kalu (I dumped Pamac), but it seems like it's abandoned. It has a nice Arch tray icon. Now I'm testing Bauh and it's great! Could you add an option of we to choose the tray icon? Or maybe have more options of them?

Kalu watch for official repo and AUR updates. Could official repo searching and updating be added in the future? That way I would switch to Bauh definitely.

Anyway, thanks for your great app! :)

Hello @KlausDevWalker, have you tried the tray mode ? (just add the parameter --tray=1 or export the env var BAUH_TRAY=1). If you are installing the app through AUR, it already creates two desktop entries and a quick script to the tray bauh-tray ( bauh --tray=1).

desktop_entries
tray
tray_update

In the tray mode it keeps a running daemon checking for updates every 60 seconds, but you can change the interval through the parameter --check-interval ( or env var BAUH_CHECK_INTERVAL ).

Does it suit your needs ?

In relation to the distro mirros support: it will be able to handle them soon.

Its good to hear that the app has been useful for you. If you have any trouble with the AUR support, report the bugs here, please.

Now I got it what you mean. You want to change the tray icon by another one, right ? I will put this feature in the backlog. Cheers.

@KlausDevWalker , I have just released bauh 0.7 that makes possible to change the tray icon via environment variables. Just export these two specifying the icons paths:

BAUH_TRAY_DEFAULT_ICON_PATH=/mypath/myicon
BAUH_TRAY_UPDATES_ICON_PATH=/mypath/myicon

Cheers

@KlausDevWalker , now it is possible to define the tray icons via the interface. Have a look at the new settings management panel of 0.8.2:

Hi, @KlausDevWalker. I've just published version 0.9.0 supporting the distro repositories. Have a look at the detailed release notes: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/bauh-formerly-known-as-fpakman-a-gui-for-flatpak-and-snap-management/96180/167

I'll be closing this issue.

Cheers
