GBA Link: Event roms not connecting as expected #651

Good day.

I need some assistance with a particular rom for GBA, and I cant seem to get it to work with FRLG RSE.

Its the event gba roms. And regardless what I try, none link. The link via cable, and the link with wireless produce the same results. And when I use the key combo (start+select), it freezes the emulator. Yet some events need that combo to transfer from the event rom to the rom receiving.

I am using VisualBoy Advance-M version 2.1.0. On Fedora Linux

Expected behavior

Events being transferred from the event rom to the rom receiving the event.

Actual behavior

Nothing happening
Player 2 is not crashing, but seems to freeze and do nothing at all.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Link the emulator, via link cable emulation, or wireless, and start the event rom on player 1, and the rom to receive on player 2.

ROM details

Which games are affected by the issue (please state if GBA or GB game):
Roms affected are the GBA roms for FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Saphire, and Emerald. When connecting to the event roms for GBA. Roms are located at https://digiex.net/forums/pokemon-gba-event-distributions.151/

Please try cable link with link timeout set to 500.

Hello,

First of all: thanks rkitover for the incredible work you're doing!
I just wanted to add that I also have the same behavior using the "Wireless" type. I've got the following error message in verbose mode:
000002233: UnkCOM 00000000 5086 996600A8 00000000

and when I use the "Cable" type, it either doesn't work when the players are ready or it crashes when they're entering in the room.
I saw the following error message on the client side in verbose mode:
Warning: Partial sends might not be handled properly.
