  • Operating System: Windows 10,
  • Input Method: Microsoft Pinyin Input Method

In the course of using it, I encountered another issue, which is that the Chinese input method has a candidate box. In NovelWriter, this candidate box obscures the existing input content, like this:

The correct display should be like this (as in Microsoft Word):

Please tell me the novelwriter version you're using, and the way to install

It can be reproduced in Qt 5.15.2(PyQt5.15.6), no matter what the input method I use

As mentioned in the other issue ticket (#1657), where this too was discussed, this may resolve itself when novelWriter moves to Qt6 (#1142). I hope to do that for the 2.4 release after the next release.

I don't think there is a way I can fix this issue in novelWriter itself, as this is probably handled by the OS window manager, the input method app, and the Qt library in some combination or another. Feel free to research possible solutions for Qt5 if any exist.
