  • New mmtex concept: source files (luatex in src directory) and package files (texmf directory) are now included in the repository.
  • Build is based on meson.

New:

  • LuaTeX 1.13 ("luahbtex" variant with harfbuzz)

  • better compilation setup

The provided binaries now also depend on harfbuzz library. Old harfbuzz versions such as those in Debian 10 won't work.

In this release:

  • compile to generic x86 to work on more processors,
  • announce mmtex version to user,
  • include all files needed to build OpTeX format so that it can be regenerated by user,
  • include files needed to support OpTeX 0.19 features (vlna, emoji),
  • increase memory/computation constraints.

v20210105

Prefix names of executables with "mm"

This allows installing mmtex alongside other TeX distributions that install
in executables of same names in /usr/bin/.

This also seems fair because both luatex engine and optex format are
slightly modified from upstream.

Changes include:

  • plain is not included,
  • .tex hyphenation files are used,
  • only RSFS (Type 1) font is included,
  • no fonts are preloaded,
  • luatex is built using meson.

Contrary to normal OpTeX it is now required to set a font family always and early in the document.
