I see the introduction for OpenAI Embedding Client
https://docs.vllm.ai/en/latest/getting_started/examples/openai_embedding_client.html
and I see the code in Github also.

But I couldn't find the code in vllm 0.4.2.

Suggest a potential alternative/fix

You are viewing the documentation for the latest code, not v0.4.2. Embeddings API was only introduced recently so it isn't included in a release yet.
