About: Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) is an open source collection of about 90 command-line tools for manipulating geographic and Cartesian data sets (including filtering, trend fitting, gridding, projecting, etc.) and producing high-quality illustrations ranging from simple x–y plots via contour maps to artificially illuminated surfaces and 3D perspective views.

Repository: https://github.com/GenericMappingTools/gmt

License: GNU LGPL version 3 or later

Why? It is a great tool for geoscientists. It will broaden the scope of void linux users.
