System

  • xuname:
Void 5.15.6_1 x86_64 GenuineIntel notuptodate rrmFFFFFFFF
  • package:
    linux, linux5.15-5.15.6_1
    affected package(s) including the version: xbps-query -p pkgver <pkgname>

Expected behavior

After doing a system update (sudo xi -u) where linux was updated from the 5.13 line to 5.15 line I expected everything to work as it did before

Actual behavior

I think it may be this:
https://community.frame.work/t/solved-linux-kernel-5-15-issues/11794/5

But what happens is plasma will freeze and potentially crash entirely when I interact with plasma panels, like the main application "start" menu. If I start plasmashell manually so I can see any errors I wouldn't see any errors until plasma crashed with a message saying the wayland connection broke.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  • Update linux from 5.13 to 5.15 with KDE as your DM
  • See that opening the application menu freezes

This seems to have been fixed with 5.15.7, which has been been added to this repo
