This suggestion is absolutely NOT of primary importance, it just proposes some improvements to train animation and new features for railroad network, such as the following ones:

TRAINS:
1)= An oscillating motion to the right and left for the wagons and (more lightly) for the locomotives, as a result of the path's imperfections.

2)= More noises for stationary locomotives (gas or steam leak, moving fans...).

3)= New noises for moving locomotives (bell sound that warns of approaching trains to a particular area, like a station or a rail crossing).

4)= Sparkles generated by the train wheels (passing over curves, junctions or during abrupt braking...).

5)= Snow or sand particles (according to the biome) which are swept from the front of the train to the edges of the tracks. (this feature shouldn't continuously take place, but we have to think about some mounds of snow/sand on the path which are hit by the train, at irregular intervals).

6)= At the train departure, wagons should start moving one after another, as a result of the space present in the joints which hold them attached (when the loco leaves the station, the last car usually starts moving after some seconds, considering this effect).

ENVIRONMENT:
7)= A train conductor's whistle that warn about trains departure from the station (only for trains which are leaving and not for arriving trains).

8)= A speaker (only for train stations) announcing incoming trains. It do not have to announce every approaching train, but its function is just to be a background sound (better if of unclear nationality).

9)= Falling particles (of rust, dust, concrete...) from bridges and viaducts while a convoy is passing on them.

10)= When you're in "ride-cam", the interior of tunnels should be slightly obscured, due to the light that does not enter in them. Then, when trains are exiting, you should be blinded by the external light, which then slowly fades.
{To better understand what I mean, you can find this feature in "Cafe Racer", a game downloadable from Play Store (or just watch some videos}.

Now, take this suggestion, keep it in archive and in a few years we'll talk about it again.
