I made this project quite a while ago and despite it not being up to my current standards, it seems to have garnered the most interest out of anything else I have done. Therefore, I'll be refactoring the codebase to make it better and more modern.

I've frozen the current state of the repo in this branch in case anyone needs it in the future. I'll be working on changes in this branch which will eventually be merged into main.

Thanks~

Hello! What is the state of the refactor branch currently? Does it work as expected?

I would work from main. Things got very busy (has it really nearly been two years since this issue?) and I don't see myself returning to this repo in the near term.

To be honest, vqvae is an older model now, you'd be better off using modern techniques instead of this!

I wanted to use it to compare some variational autoencoder methods, that's why :D
Curiously enough, what are some new techniques? Autoregression models?
