In the incident resolution document, we discuss confidentiality for CoC incidents. While there are many situations that do warrant confidentiality, there may be others that do not, or where confidentiality worsens the situation.

  • what needs to be confidential in a CoC violation?
  • who needs to be protected by a confidentiality policy?
  • who needs to adhere to a confidentiality policy?
  • how do we balance confidentiality and tracking repeated offences?
  • what are the logistics of maintaining confidentiality?
  • what are the confidentiality expectations around informal mediation, and how will the informal mediator know about them, given that the individual probably has not been trained?
