This issue was created in the Profiles Ontology document and is listed in it. Once consensus on addressing it is reached here in comments below, the results will be added to the document and the issue closed.

Issue #377 may be partially linked to this - it points out the existing behaviour for the Recommendation and looks for guidance on whether we persist this or enhance it. Consistency across the DXWG family would probably be a good idea - particularly in adhering to W3 policy

I also have also created the issue #399 which asks about derivative namespaces for the profiles ont namespace to be used for things like SHACL shapes graphs for ontology adherence validation. Surely DCAT would have a similar requirement?

Document shortcode is dx-prof, so https://www.w3.org/TR/dx-prof/, and RDF namespace is /dx/prof so http://www.w3.org/ns/dx/prof/.

This was determined through WG discussin in plenary and liaison with W3C staff.

Closing due to the allocation of namespaces and document short codes by the W3C: dx-prof, dx-prof-conneg & http://www.w3.org/ns/dx/prof/.
