Email content:

The Dataset Exchange Working Group has published a First Public Working Draft of The Profiles Ontology (PROF). This small ontology is designed to describe the resources required for a standard or a profile of one or more standards, such as schemas, ontologies, and rules, and for specifying the relationships between profiles, the things they profile and supporting artifacts, such as controlled vocabularies, validation tools, and guidelines. This document defines the ontology schema and provides examples of its use in describing existing standards and profiles.

By using PROF, you gain a machine-readable formalization of profile elements and when multiple profiles of profiles and standards are described using PROF we will have a navigable profiles graph.
This document is published within a wider profile guidance context that the Dataset Exchange Working Group is addressing and future publications about profile guidance and content negotiation by profile are expected shortly.

We invite your comment on this First Public Working Draft.

@andrea-perego No! I didn't think of that, oops. Doing that now and re-rending out the request to all those I never head from earlier this month.
