This is a tracker issue. Only discuss things here if they are i18n group internal meta-discussions about the issue. Contribute to the actual discussion at the following link:

I reviewed the thread and agreed with their resolution, which is not using informal spelling in specifications.

It might be useful to add it to https://www.w3.org/Guide/manual-of-style/
