Hi Richard,

thank you for sending out the great styles and fallback article out for review. Very helpful examples and great to have this resource, thank you and thanks to all contributors.

I noticed some of the examples are images and it's not possible to copy and paste the source text to experiment with it, build test cases, test fallback in an implementation or other such cases. (example for that: Japanese characters in Chinese font, but there are many more). Would it be possible to provide Unicode source text for each of the examples, either inline in the document, or with an external link to a your samples pages or another way?

What you're asking for is actually available if you look at the source text. See the alt attribute for each figure image. You're right, though, that i should make that accessible for the general reader, and i started thinking about how to do that but didn't yet decide on how – it should be a way that can be used across all our articles. Thanks for nudging me: i'll raise the priority on my things to do list. Hopefully, in the meantime you can use the alt text.

Oh, i just realised that the zh/ja font example doesn't have alt text. I'll fix that.

Thanks for the fix and good to know that it's there. I guess I should have looked there, but it might improve the discoverability to point it out in a a note at the beginning that the source text can be found in the alt text of the images?

@drott I have finally settled on a way to make the text available from the reader's view of the page. Most of the figures now include an expandable div with the title "Show as plain text". This shows the text in the example, and also points to my pickers for those who want to experiment with fonts or analyse the text. Hope that helps.

I'll therefore close this now, but do open again if you want to add more. And thanks again for the prod.

This is a great improvement, thank you! I like that it's so easy to take this to your picker web page and experiment with it.
