The MEIG co-chairs are considering whether to change our regular monthly call schedule to make participation easier.

Currently, we have a timeslot that's early in morning US Pacific, afternoon in Europe, and late night in Asia and we would like to understand whether changing this could help make participation in our meetings easier for you.

We propose to cycle our meetings between three different timeslots, from one of the options below.

Option 1: UK, Europe, US times are fixed with respect to daylight savings

UTC US Pacific US Eastern UK Europe China Japan
(1) November-March 06:00 22:00 01:00 6:00 7:00 14:00 15:00
April-October 05:00 22:00 01:00 6:00 7:00 13:00 14:00
(2) November-March 15:00 07:00 10:00 15:00 16:00 23:00 00:00
April-October 14:00 07:00 10:00 15:00 16:00 22:00 23:00
(3) November-March 22:00 14:00 17:00 22:00 23:00 06:00 07:00
April-October 21:00 14:00 17:00 22:00 23:00 05:00 06:00

Option 2: The UTC time is fixed, so UK, Europe, US times vary with daylight savings

UTC US Pacific US Eastern UK Europe China Japan
(1) November-March 06:00 22:00 01:00 06:00 07:00 14:00 15:00
April-October 06:00 23:00 02:00 07:00 08:00 14:00 15:00
(2) November-March 14:00 06:00 09:00 14:00 15:00 21:00 22:00
April-October 14:00 07:00 10:00 15:00 16:00 21:00 22:00
(3) November-March 22:00 14:00 17:00 22:00 23:00 06:00 07:00
April-October 22:00 14:00 17:00 23:00 00:00 06:00 07:00

Ideally we can rotate this time for U.S.. Option 1 is ideal.

Thanks a lot for raising this issue @chrisn !

BTW, it seems there are some typos in the option 1 table, and I think the "(2)" rows should be:

UTC US Pacific US Eastern UK Europe China Japan
(2) November-March 15:00 07:00 10:00 15:00 16:00 23:00 00:00
April-October 14:00 07:00 10:00 15:00 16:00 22:00 23:00

My mistake, thanks @ashimura. I have updated the table above. I hope this hasn't affected the survey results.
