It'd be really good if the eyedropper could be constrained to picking from a particular DOM element.
This would useful where that element contains a subset of colors that are legal. We have a specific case where we want to let the user pick a color from a video frame to act as a key for that frame - it doesn't make sense to allow them to select a color from outside the video element.

Thank you for the feedback @jamespearce2006! This use case makes sense to me, but I wonder what the UI should look like (eyedropper cursor when hovering the element, otherwise normal cursor?)

Let me ping @ipopescu93 for further discussion as he's the spec editor.

@captainbrosset I imagined something like a disallowed cursor when hovering outside the element - similar to how drag/drop works when the drop target is not valid.

These are the cursors we currently use in our app:

EyeDropper api has a bug: using this API once,input method aplication do not work in asia contries.
