At launch of wai/aria/apg on May 19, 2022, we are extracting information about current editors, past editors, and acknowledgements from the old aria-practices.html respec doc. This doc pulled some information from aria-common.

  • Where do we want to maintain such information?
  • Should the APG rely on an external source for some of the information?
  • To what extent should we maintain acknowledgements about major contributions to past versions?
  • What information should be included in every page footer?

Some of the guiding principles the TF has used in the past:

  • Author names are not included in source comments because all source is a work of the entire TF, there are often multiple authors over time, and it is difficult to ensure such information is accurate.
  • Similarly, the TF strives to convey that the APG is developed with the broader accessibility community.
  • At the same time, the APG TF understands it is important to provide appropriate individual recognition for contributions
