Current:

It took Brami a while to find out that the Backspace-key closes the date picker. He was not used to this unusual behavior, and was about to give up the application altogether.

Suggestions:

Rationale: "...about to give up the application..." sounds a bit incomplete.

Thanks for catching this, was a typo (intended to use the word "using" as suggested above).
