Mentioned on the AG Call of 10/05/21, I would like to propose providing actual links to visual examples in the normative specification, as seeing what is being asked helps to clarify the request of this very visual requirement.

Hi John,

A recent change to the understanding doc was to put 3 simple (passing) examples at the top of the intent.

I don't think it would be good to put an image into the main spec doc (it would be the only one), and considering we've recently put that image at the top of the understanding, is there something else you had in mind?

Proposed response:

Adding images to this particular SC would be exceptional when several SCs would benefit from visual examples.

To demonstrate each aspect of the SC would require at least 3 images, really making this SC stand apart from the others.

Given that the understanding document has 19 figures, the first near the top of the intent, the group considers this the best approach.

Approved response:

Up until now there have never been images as part of the normative text or linked from the normative text in a WCAG document. There are currently 19 visual examples in the understanding document including some at the top of the Understanding. We will continue to look for opportunities to make this Success Criterion more understandable in the text and refine the Understanding document.
