The term format is listed under DataSchema (generic one) even though it applies only to strings. This is also present in the recommendation version and it is a bug in my opinion ( a light one thankfully 馃槉 )

Call of 21.07: Actually the TD spec is correct. JSON Schema says:

All format attributes defined in this section apply to strings, but a format attribute can be specified to apply to any instance types defined in the data model defined in the core JSON Schema. [CREF1]

However, all the format values currently apply only to strings
