The "autocomplete" checkbox doesn't completely disable the autocompleter but only prevents the popup to appear.

It would be good to have options to

completely disable the function
avoid harvesting from include files

There are situations where I would like to decide the trade-off between autocompletion and snappy response.

I would suggest to at least see if there's a reachable solution for the 3.1 release
