I've done the env settings, but the web reading shows "Mint is private" where is the problem? is there an error in Candymachine?

You have to use the proper version of sugar as mentioned on the Readme

I've been getting the same, best I can tell, the Metaplex has v2 apis for most of the minting calls now, but it looks like the code still uses the old v1 versions.
