As commented on Slack ( see 1 and 2), as of version 0.6.3 a Docker stub is required even when not using docker and only using containerd and cni.

Docker is an absolute requirement as of v0.6.3. Not sure what the Slack users are working from possibly HEAD? Keeping this open since there will need to be regression tests cases around this.

Closing this because it now appears that Docker is an absolute requirement - even if you use containerd and cni when launching a micro-vm.... Ignite uses docker in the background :(
