Screenshots aren't attached to report with wdio v6 and devtools protocol

After executing tests with the html reporter, wdio v6 and devtools protocol, the screenshots aren't attached to the html report.
the screenshots are available in the file explorer (with another structure, e.g. the cid folder is missing, all screenshots are available in a flat hierarchy).

i executed the exact same set up with wdio v6 and the webdriver protocol (with chromedriver service) and there everythings fine.

I looked at it. devtools doesnt seem to be firing any of the needed events for correct report generation. It would take some time to fix
