REQUIREMERNTS
FredClient needs for running Python in version 2.7 or later.
The script install.sh controls if python is present in system and
if version is enought. But if you can check it yourself type:
$ python -V
FredClient uses for validation of the XML documents an external validator
xmllint. But it is not the necessary condition for running FredClient.
When xmllint missing on the system the client turns validation automaticly off.
$ xmllint --version
INSTALLATION
To install FredClient proceed following steps:
1) Unpack the installation archive:
$ tar -xf FredClient-X.Y.Z.tar.gz
2) Go to the folder:
$ cd FredClient-X.Y.Z
3) Run installation with root privileges:
$ sudo ./install.sh
Scipt install.sh makes check of the python version and root privileges.
During installation process script writes paths of the all files what has been installed
into the report install.log. This report is used later for uninstallation process.
That is all, the installation is done. For start client type:
$ ./fred-client
It is not necessary install FredClient if you want it just try for test. It is possible
run program directly from folder where it has been unpacked.
But if you need run FredClient from anywhere in system or need run it for others users
you need install.
UNISTALLATION
To unistall FredClient proceed following steps:
1) Go to install folder:
$ tar -xf FredClient-X.Y.Z.tar.gz
2) Run uninstallation script with root privileges:
$ sudo ./uninstall.py
